Commonwealth Youth Games - Silver Medal!

I have just come back from Isle of Man where the Commonwealth Games was held. It was such a fantastic 8 days out there, even if it was very windy! I competed on the last day, so before hand I got the chance to watch other sports taking part, for example swimming, rugby and badminton.

After running into a tail end of a hurricane, I came away with a silver medal! I am very happy considering the conditions and in addition team England were top of the medal table.

Throughout the week I was able to make friends with other athletes from other sports and enjoy the experience.

World Youth Championship update!!

Alt text here... Hey guys,

Just came back from the World Youth Chanpionships finishing in 6th place in the final, ranking me 6th in the world! In my semi final I ran a pb of 58.74 and later was informed that this time broke the British Youth Record which was previously 58.97. I had a fantastic time out in Lille with all the GB athletes and this was definately an experience of a life time.

Thank you for all the support leading up to the World Youths.

Competing for GB in World Youth Championships!

Hayley Mclean Hey guys, These last few months have been really successful and exciting. A few weeks ago I won the Essex Champs for 300m hurdles, 80m hurdles and the 100m. Then I broke the U17 UK record for 400m Hurdles (59.58) and last weekend I ran in the U20’s South of England Championships which went really well and I managed to clock another good time and win.

More importantly, I received a phone call last Monday stating that I had been selected to represent GB in the World Youth Championships which is taking place in lille, France from the 6th to the 10th July. I am extremely excited to be selected and I hope to do Great Britain proud. Wish me luck!

National Pentathlon Champion :)!

This weekend I had the England U17 National Combined Events Championships and after a slightly dodgey start, I managed to retain my title from last year and maintain my UK number 1 ranking. As well as this I also managed to jump a huge pb in my long jump (5.49m) which now ranks me number 2 in the UK!

National Champion!

Hi guys. As you know I had the National Champs on Sunday and after a heat and a tough semi-final, I knew that I had a hard final ahead of me. I am delighted to say that I won gold in a new pb of 8.64, which ranks me number 1 in the UK.

The weekend I am facing another challenge, as I’m competing in Sheffield at the National combined events championships, where I will be competing against some of my closest rivals. I hope this weekend is just as successful as last weekend!
